Scarlett Johansson Issues Legal Threats to Websites over Nude Photos

Hollywood actress Scarlett Johansson is issuing legal threats to websites that fail to remove her stolen nude photographs. Johansson has hired the top celebrity lawyer Martin Singer for the task. Singer has sent out a cease-and-desist notice to a number of gossip outlets that displayed the nude self-portraits. The photos were apparently hacked from Johansson’s mobile phone and leaked online. Why did she have these anyhow? Why did she even have them taken of her? Why did she take them herself?

Martin Singer’s letter to the websites asks them to take off the “stolen, copyright protected private photographs” with immediate effect or face a massive lawsuit. The letter goes on to say, “The highly personal and private photographs at issue capture our client self-posing in her own home in a state of undress and/or topless. If you fail to comply, you will be acting at your own peril. Please govern yourselves accordingly.” Apparently Johansson governed herself accordingly.

Johansson, who starred in Girl with a Pearl Earring, Vicky Cristina Barcelona, and Lost in Translation, may be the target of a hacking network that is known to steal photographs and videos and then releases them onto the Internet. According to E! News, this angle is being investigated by the FBI.

Meanwhile, Johansson spoke to CNN, “Just because you’re an actor or make films or whatever doesn’t mean you’re not entitled to your own personal privacy.” But why push the envelope and take those pictures?

William is an amazing lawyer on the first day he took my case from a felony to a misdemeanor. He always answered my calls and text messages, never a problem. He was always the one in court not sending someone else, unlike my last lawyer. 10/10 would recommend. If I ever have any other problems, he will be the first person I call. Shane B.
